Sharukh Sheikh | Fellow March 2022 – 2023

Mentor | Shangon Das Gupta

Spellbinding things from The Goa School: I made new friends, spent quality time thinking out of the box, learning about various places. Also, I learnt to try and never give up.”

— From a thank you letter Sharukh wrote at the end of the contact program in March 2022.

More in Sharukh’s own words:

“I learnt that we must always try. It’s not possible — or impossible — till you try. Even if you are faced with challenges, seek help and you will be assisted where possible. You are not alone, you can easily reach out and get some help.

Sharukh, centre, made new friends at The Goa School, and learnt about various places.

The mentorship I received helped me shape my perspective, as I was exposed to other people’s perspectives that I took into consideration. There was an accommodating atmosphere that was created to welcome everyone’s views.

I would tell future Fellows that the exposure is an eye-opener. It presents you with a wide view of situations, circumstances and opportunities that will greatly open your mind. I would wish future Fellows to get the same exposure and opportunities we got.”

Sharukh’s dream is to see India corruption-free. He joined The Goa School to improve both his knowledge and his soft skills. Today, he says, “I recently got a job at Axis Bank where I am working hard, learning several new things. I think the exposure and mentorship I got from The Goa School helped with the job.

I haven’t worked out a clear plan for myself. For now, I just need to work hard and learn at my job.”
